The bay of Palma
Once they have rent a bike, everybody wonders where to go with the bike. Call&ride recommends going to the promenade and once you have reached the cathedral, head towards the city centre.
The promenade counts with a bike lane of more than 20 km. This bike lane starts near El Club de Mar (1), a top worldwide port for super yachts. El Club de Mar also has a bar, a restaurant and a nightclub. Before arriving to the Auditórium de Palma (2) we find the party area of the Majorcan capital. In this area there are located most of the biggest nightclubs and pubs of Palma de Mallorca, among them we can highlight Pacha Mallorca, Tito’s, Backstage or el Divino. The Auditorium is a congress centre where conferences as well as theatre plays, concerts and musicals take place. Further on it is located the Cappuccino Grand Cafe (3); one of the nicest places of Palma to taste a coffee or a sweet. Next to the Capuccino we find the Hogan’s (4) an Irish bar with live music every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 23:30. Behind the Capuccino we can find the Hard Rock Café de Palma (5), the Majorcan franchise of the famous chain.
Riding towards the city centre, we reach the area of Santa Catalina (11), in front of the Parque de la Feixina. This area is one of the most trendy of the city. There you can find plenty of bars, restaurants, pubs, hotels, etc. In this area we can also find Es Baluard (6), the modern and contemporary art museum of Palma. This museum offers a 2€ special price to everyone who gets to its facilities by bike.
Continuing with the ride we reach the restaurante Pesquero (7), characterised for its Mediterranean cuisine, in special for its rice, paellas and “calderetas”. It also counts with a great after work atmosphere with special prices in its drink menus, every day from 17h to 20h.
In front of the restaurant we find the Drassana Square (8). In this square there is a great offer of bars and restaurants. Among them we can highlight the Bar Coto, with a huge menu for fresh food lovers besides its tasty cakes and the Corner Bar that stands out for its happy hour from 13h to 20h where the pints of beer cost only 2€.
Right next to the Drassana Square it is located La Lonja de Palma (9), an emblematic building and one of the most representative Majorcan gothic buildings. In the area of La Lonja there is a vast offer of bars and restaurants with a very friendly atmosphere every day of the year from 19h. Get lost in the alleys of Palma and find the bar or restaurant that suits you best.
